Went to work this morning, then as soon as I walked in the door I started having pressure on my chest ,told my boss he said go!! and I went. Before that . Normally being the guy I am I would tough it out, but the Lord gave me words on the Safety Sign at work when I was deciding what to do ? the words "don't hesitate" stood out !
So I went to the ER and they slapped all these wires on (within 5 minutes of walking in the door) and started all these tests, then the Doctor came in and started talking about how they were really busy and all the overnight rooms had been filled, that I might have to be transported to Santa Rosa and asked about my heart as it was not keeping a steady rhythm. My heart just stopped (no pun intended) :roll: but seriously I started getting real worried, my wife started a prayer chain and within an hour I had three pastors and four more members of my Church praying for me in the room. Two hours later God sent me home as I passed all the tests and the medicine did the trick, I still have to see a cardioligist tomorrow and find out more about ATRIAL FIBRILLATION, I know GOD has this covered.

love your attitude! 8) i know it sounds bad, but the doctors do this type of thing every day anymore, its not a big deal to them. my father in law has a defribulator, the dr. showed it to us before he put it in. it amazes me how something barely biger than a cell fone battery can deliver that kind of wallop. yes, it has gone off before, and worked flawlessly. he also has this machine on his nightstand that monitors it while hes sleeping and comunicates with his dr. 60 miles away. totally incredible technology! prayers and thoughts comin at you.

I just got diagnosed with AF too( I'm only 30). Same thing happened to me. Was working on a bike here in the shop and got a funny skip in my heart beat. Felt light headed,and my pulse started racing. It was up to 200+ when the paramedics came. Kept me in the hospital for 3 days before they got my rhythm in check and my heart rate down. I stopped smoking,drinking and have changed my diet entirely. I have an app. with my cardiologist next week to see if a medicinal plan is in order. My episode was on Feb.27th and I have had wavering chest pain/pressure since. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, from the research I have done it seems to be a manageable condition. I was told however that it will happen again once it has happened once. Came back from the Doctor, actually cardioligist / Full fledged Colonel who kept giving me grief for my lack of insurance, basicly I can go back to work Monday and the following Monday I have to do a stress test (thought I already did that) :shock: anyways he said it is possible that the rhythm may go back to normal, if not my options are medicine, also known as Rat Poison according to the Colonel , shock treatment to reset the rhythm but not guaranteed to work,or the other option (if I sell all my bikes anytime soon) is going to a specialist down in the Bay Area and run a wire up my vein to my heart and cut out the bad, best option if I had an extra $5000 laying around. Soooo big change in diet, lots of prayer and let the Lord move mountains. Todays visit $649.00 not count the heart monitor I have to wear a couple of days. So instead of GSC I may have to change to BTC Bloody Turnip Customs :lol:

I had it happen to me too. I felt the chest thing and got all light headed at work one morning when I was 43.
I've been through all the tests with the wires and contraptions. 3 days in the hospital was enough.
This was the reason for me getting into bikes. I needed more cardio and needed to lose weight. After awhile mine did go back to normal,but it was a major wake up call.

I went through this in my late 30's then again in my mid 40's.I was in a lousy untrusting marriage,I got rid of her and quit smoking 7 years ago and at 53 am healthier than ever.

Update !!! I had to wear the heart monitor for two days, and since GOD is so awesome my heartbeat was beating normal yesterday morning, wakeup call ,you bet!!!!! no more FOOD well I like chef salad, and seafood, the biggest thing I will miss is my breads, but hey the Lord is not done with me yet!!! and a buildoff is coming :lol: :lol: :roll: :wink:

Had the stress test today, I passed, but he still wants to do a sleep study and refer me to a specialist to do some kind of Surgery where they go up a vein in my leg, so of course I'm freaked out,basicly he is saying it can come back unless I have this surgery. Bottom line is I don't have insurance or $5000 laying around, and my bikes won't cover anywhere near this expense if I sold them,please keep this situation in your prayers.

Sounds like he's talking about radioablation.

I've known a couple of people over the years that have had that done and it was successful for them.

It was recommended that I do the same thing. Not sure the route I'm going to go yet.
