So I don't usually act on impulse buys, but I did today. Bought this off a guy on the street. From what I can tell is it's a pre-WWII (?) Western Flyer. Rebuilt the hubs (Rear is a Bendix coaster brake) today and it rides great. Weighs a ton though! I really like the chain tensioners on the back, anybody know why they stopped putting those on bikes? If anybody else has any info on it that'd be great.

This one is going to be flipped, and I better do it soon before I start scavenging parts off of it for my boardtracker build.

Great score! Oddly enough, though, the forks and chainguard appear to be Huffman made... everything else seems like it would be Western Flyer...

Huh, the forks seem to have the same paint/striping as the rest of the frame, I'll have to look into that. Thanks.

With this, I now have...4.5 bikes in my dorm room.

Just outta curiousity, what street in B'ham did you buy that on?

Shoot I don't know exactly, I'm still relatively new up here. It was in downtown off Holly with a sign on it that said "For Sale." After about twenty minutes of wandering around pondering whether to buy it or not, I did, and rode it home!
