This piece of cool equipment saved my bacon on the Rat Rod BMX build. There was merely an open cable guide and not a stop on this frame close the the seat tube. I could have followed the directions to run it like a U-brake on the fork, but the U-brake is new territory as I was a side pull guy for aeons! I was able to turn the guide into a stop AND have a barrel adjuster, to boot! This was originally marketed as a device for V brakes, but it has many uses!

If I don’t have a good pic of it on the build, I will show the surplus one I have in the package. Hopefully the following shows the piece in question; if not, I will put up a pic in a few hours. Look for the green bit near the brake on the top tube.

Is that the flexible one? I used a flexible one on Retro Rocket and I don't know how I would have gotten the front brake to work without it.

Yes it is!

I am going to stock up on these things, as they are just as handy as all get out!

That one's fancier! I bought a 10 pack of plain metal and I'm sure there are all kinds of creative uses for them (I might even end up using one for the throttle setup of the electric kayak project I'm working on very slowly).

I was trying to turn down something to convert the guide into a stop when I remembered that I bought a few of these! No need to braze on something when I had this little dude sitting around. Dia Compe Flexie- not just for your V-brakes!
