Indian Boardtracker with a twist or two!

So got the black pin wash on this hopefully gives the thing a grimy worn look.
Also dabbed a bit extra on around the fuel filler, let it sit to give the spilt fuel look.

And she's on the road, hot day in the South Pacific today bit of a breeze in the afternoon
so nice for a ride around my favorite photo spots, she's a gem this one.

Fitted her up with a suitable light, will be powered eventually.

So where does the fuel go? In the fuel tank of course, fitted the charge jack under the fake fuel filler, where else!?

Had a to get a pic of my Indians together hey could you call this a tribe!?

So what's next, having a go at a Headbadge, so had a bit of scrap copper tube, found a
pic on the net, copied this to size then cut out the gaps. Traced this onto the copper than cut it out with my dremel, bit fiddly but getting there. Making two as I have two Indians.

Took most of a rainy day to make these two, dremel, then file, then buff.

Made two the shiny one for the Slowest Indian the ratty one for this bike.

May just be able to see I scribed in Hendee MFG an Springfeild Mass to and bottom.

Also added a tail light from an old reflector I had and some plumbing pipe

Getting all arty on the computer.

That's the ten year old Boarder Collie "Fly" looking happy to have her picture taken.
I guess the headbadge and tail light are sort of a comma and explanation mark on
this build. Getting close but still a bit more to do, will convert her over to a boardtracker
soon and see how she looks.

So here she is as a boardtracker, not as comfortable a riding position for sure!

As the title first suggested she's a boardtracker first and foremost. So wanted a more
authentic looking boardtracker seat, cut from a skateboard deck.

Back to traditional, much nicer to ride this way, added a bit of bling, fitted up my
motoring association badge collection and took some pic's in the yard.

They are resealing the local runway where I live, opened it up to the
public, so probably my one and only chance to ride on the runway!

The frame came up great & the double stems for the bars was a great idea . Really cool this bike looks like the real deal !

Okay so as promised have been working on filling the void under the tank,
from the outset I was always going to try to get this thing as close to the
real thing as my ability would allow, the third twist, fake engine.

So I live pretty isolated and have to build my bikes from what I can beg,
borrow or pirate from here, there and everywhere, the bulk of this thing
is mainly from scrap plywood.

The cylinder head is cut out of an old compressor head.

More plywood for the oil tank and magneto, the carbie an old torch and scrap plumbing pipe or the intake manifold and exhaust.

Bit more detail, pipes are old brake lines pulled off a wrecked car, the oil valve from an old primus stove as is the oil tank filler.

Oil pump from the same dismantled primes stove, the crank shaft is driven by the pedals.

Now most of the mock up is now done, next, dismantle and paint!
