Indian "Replica" Springer Fork.

I picked up this "replica" springer fork this week and got it removed from the roadmaster frame it was on.

These are made in China and according to an ebay seller and a California bike shop that sells them, they are replicas from an early Indian motorcycle fork. I haven't been able to an example from Indian that looks exactly like this. I have seen a few early motorcycle springers that are generally similar though.

I have some ideas of how I want to modify and improve this fork, but in the meantime I wanted to post of some pics. I love the looks of this, especially for what is rolling around in my head for it.

Made for 26". The width between the fork legs is 3.5". I have plans to modify it for wider wheels/tires.

There was a period of time between the early leaf spring forks and later telescopics when Indians were equipped with girder style forks, this 1940 is pretty darn close.

Definitely wouldn't be hard to widen with some longer spacers and bolts.

Yeah, I have seen a lot of examples of similar springer action but with the fork legs tapering down like the ones you posted above. I like how my fork legs run parrallel for a long stretch before angling together sharply at the axle. It gives it more visual weight

I was tempted by this when it was first posted. I had already spent my fun money at the time and was sort of relieved when you bought it.
