info on fat rear tyre

are fat rear tyre safe and how do i go out doing it?
I have a 24inch bike rim

I have to look. I was think 3inch width will look good its for the back and the frame is bobber looking frame i am building its a ebike so can not put motorcycle parts on it (like back wheel) the law be on my back
needs to be bikcycle parts

I have a Electra Fatti-O 24x3 tire on the back of one of my bikes. The wheel I used was from a Murray 24" cruiser, and I used a tube for a 26" wheel. The tire mounted like any other tire. I would just recommend checking for width to accomodate the wider tire. You may also need to check that your chain doesn't rub on the side of the tire as well.

I have a Surly Large Marge 24x3 rim and using a 24x3.45 tire from http://www.3gbikes.com also using a 24 inner tube. If your concerned about safety it really depends on how much clearance you have on your frame and chain. And i don't know how wide of a rim you have if it's really skinny that might an issue.
