So we piled into the mattmoble to drive 30 mins to Quebec. Got there followed a strange detour that took @MattiThundrrr and I in a circle to finally give up and just walk the last 2km but we got this

It's so weird. Has a Far West sticker, which is a clothing company, outdoor type gear. The real clue is that "Quality From Japan, Designed by BRC" sticker and the Tange sticker on the fork and post. Some really lovely parts as well. BRC was a Canadian bike company, they had some mad BMX products in the 70s and 80s, and good trail bikes during the bike boom of the late 80s.

Tange, Sakae

:113:
Nitto bars, Dia Compe brakes and levers (even the lead ends on the straddle cables are marked DC!) I think they are suzue hubs and arayas, suntour stem, super sweet suntour group set, even the double kickstand on the thing was cool. It is a very well dressed bike

3x7 Shimano DX Groupset
Exage Hubs
Araya Rims
Look at that two water bottle setup!
Under stay u brake! Almost guaranteed that is from 1988. Not sure if that's a Tange sticker on the fork and seatpost... Kuwahara was the first mountain bike I ever rode. You'll love it

That's likely an 88ish, under stay brakes, like the wishbone stay. Is is aluminum? That gusset at the head looks stout. Would make a fantastic onespeed. Odd looking drops on the fork.
If it's aluminum it's a winter bike
