I have a new Nexus 3 speed on my Electra and a new Sturmey Archer 3 speed on a bike I built. Both coaster brakes. The nexus shifts better and stops better, but I like the Sturmey equally. It "feels" really good to ride. I can't explain it any better, sorry.

Skip,
Would that Electra wheel fit into any bike? Just curious as Chain Reaction sell them - but they sell them as an Electra wheel and not just 'a wheel'.

Not sure truthfully. I don't see why not. They might just say "Electra" wheel in order to promote it or make people think it's different or better.

I have a SRAM Inter-3/disk brake on my SS mountain bike and it's pretty much bomb-proof. I use it instead of my regular SS wheel if we are riding outside the city where there are a bunch of hilly trails. If it can survive off-roading it would be fine on a cruiser :)

More gears, more better. I'm riding the Nexus 8-speed with coaster brake. Great hub- it keeps my butt in the Brooks saddle, and I can lock up the back, and sling a brodie (if I'm feeling irresponsible)
Love it. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.
