Picked this thing up today. Previous owner didn't like the factory gray, painted it white, and got overzealous when it came time to reassemble...messing up the paint.

Has a massive 26x2.65 up front and a 2.35 in the rear. It's 42lbs of mountain-pounding fury.

I'm going to strip it to raw aluminum and clear it.

A few updated shots.

SRAM XO rear derailleur to replace the X-4 that was on it.

Ditched the 2.65 front tire and 2.35 rear for some 2.1 Fire XC Pros. Shed 5lbs in weight with a simple tire/tube change. It was 43.5lbs when I picked it up, it's down to 37.1 now.

I used Dupli-Color's Paint Shop stuff from Auto Zone. Shot it with HVLP that my wife bought from Sears - link

Primer, base, clear.

Thanks man. Time to get my materials together for my felt speedway.

No problem.

If I wanted to spend a bit more time on it I could have wet-sanded the clear and made it REALLY smooth.

As it is what you see is just primer/base/clear with NO sanding.

I got lazy, but it still looks great.

ryder1,

Since we've had nothing but rain and ice lately as far as weather goes I decided to break out the 1000 grit and polishing compound.

It's lookin' awesome now.

I'll get some pics up soon.

XO triggers went on last week.

Put a Tioga Spyder TwinTail saddle on it as well.

It's down to 36lbs.
