Re: Is this color original?

yup, its violet, that color does funny things in photos but the color is nice and the paint looks like its in decent shape. too bad about the chainguard letters but youve got a SLIK CHIK if that S-2 rear is original to the bike !!!

Re: Is this color original?

Thanks Jeremy. Slik Chik is Jr sized right? Was hoping for a full size. Would mind finding an S-2 for the front though, I've got a set of WW tires I'd like to use on it. Glad the paint is original though.

Re: Is this color original?

they were the "BIG" stingray girls bikes, the Fair Lady Stingrays would be considered a junior is suppose. the stingrays had a s-2 rear and an s-7 front too, the fairladys had s-7s front and rear ... just like the boys junior stingrays did. doesnt get much bigger than what youve got in the girls stingrays.

I always thought the "Lil' Chik" was the Jr. sized girls Stingray. It has the short cranks, etc. The Fair Lady was still full size, but just had S-7's front and rear. Or I could be crazy

Great bike! Love the violet Schwinns.

Ad says 1970, but 1970 serial numbers would be on the dropout right? Wouldn't this be a 1971-later??

Oops, guess it is a 70. SHoulda checked first

this is bike has got a few things going for it like ratina said,

1) violet seat looks minty, someone looking for a nice violet seat will have a hard time finding one cheap.
2) dont come across slik chik's frame sets too often, stopped making them after a few years.
3) 20" S-2's are hoarded like mad, its hard to find one cheap.

i could see all those going for at least $50 a pop by themselves, really good head start on a whole bike in my opinion.
