Is it possible to darken a bike seat? I have a red vinyl bike seat but I want to darken it so it better matches the bike but I don't want something that is going to rub off on cloths or become a sticky mess like spray paint or oil rub. Is there anything that can be done with it or am I just gonna have to live with it? I really like the seat because it fits the era of the bike and is comfortable but kinda looks like a clown's nose on the bike.

I'm really trying to not have to re-cover it because it is comfortable, era correct, and in great shape. If I had to recover one I have another I can do that with but really just want to darken it a shade or two.

i have heard about people dying things with tea. I wonder if that would work? Im not thinking it would dye it but maybe it would darken it??

Sew brand upholstery spray(paint/ dye not sure which) will not rub off.Great for coloring bar tape too or re-painting the "S" on Schwinn seats.
