I finally found a frame to build a board track racer. I’ve been searching for a some solid bones like a Schwinn DX, but they are pricey and not something I really wanted to alter. This is a CWC, most likely a Roadmaster. I will know more once it arrives. It has had some welded repairs done to it, so I feel good about altering this one if needed. This is a post war frame and would have come with peaked fenders. Looking to install a GC 190 engine. I may work with the frames existing paint, adding parts with paint and patina to match.

I decided to edit this thread and make it a spot for my bicycle finds. I am always hoping to find those special gems to inspire and transform my builds. I have chosen to follow suit with a few here and I now hunt facebook marketplace. The only reason I go there now. It has been a great source for awesome finds. My recent scores have been two Electra women’s bicycles. One I have dismantled for the current build off. The other is too nice to dismantle, so I am cleaning it up for a flip early next spring. I also have found my recent build frame, a Firestone Cruiser. It came to me as a ten dollar add on, to bundle it with a CWC. I also found a Sears 24” 3 speed that has provided a nice pile of useable parts.
$100 for a pair of 3 speed Electra bikes, $65 for a CWC frame, fork&fenders, $10 for the Firestone Cruiser and $20 for the Sears bike.
There is great stuff to be found and great deals out there. Happy hunting!

Put a pair on my Electra cruiser, yep they are a little "softer" than the "stock" pair I was riding. Really like them, I got a red/tan gum color, but these creme ones are pretty cool
I bet they ride nice on your Electra. I’ll have to keep an eye out for other colors.
I put a pair on this thing; they ride great but not much flat protection. I live in southern Arizona where flats are a major hazard. Also the front tire turned brown after a few months. Arizona sun?View attachment 286129
Thanks for the input. I did notice they were pretty thin. I’ll run slime tubes and hope for the best. They are for the build off in May (possibly). They show well either new or weathered.

The Roadmaster showed up last week. Some research tells me it’s 1941 October-December. It has the drop stand ears on the drop outs. Navy Blue and White originally. It’s really crusty. I would like to do an original patina/faux patina build, but I just love shiny chrome too much to see it through. I love shiny chrome on a crusty bike/car but many will knock that decision to blend the two. My first car was a 1968 Mustang, Candy Apple Red with a black vinyl top. The paint was still fair by the time I had got it but some rust in the fender wells. But a set of Crager Mags on some BF Goodrich tires made it “awesome” in my eyes. I had air shocks in the back with track bars, and could adjust the ride from kicked up, to ass dragging. I could also adjust my stoplight launch by adjusting the shocks air. Anyhow. Ramble ramble. Here is the Roadmaster

give that thing a wood bleach bath, you might be able to save a lot of the original paint
