The ride will begin at the start of the trail in Saco on Clark Street which is at Thornton Academy . I believe it is about 20 minutes further than the Kennebunk exit. I would Google Clark Street to find directions as I first went straight to Thornton Academy and had a really hard time finding the entrance and parking to the trail. There is one sign along the edge of the road in the far corner of the lot on Clark Street and plenty of parking that is free.

From the Saco entrance, its a very short ride to Sea Salt Lobster http://www.seasaltlobsterrestaurant.com/ where they have a pretty extensive menu, mostly seafood. A handful of decent beers on tap and outdoor seating. Depending on the time, we could either hit this place on the way up if people are hungry from the drive up or on the way back, or both... they have a live local band starting at 5:30 on Saturdays. The Scarborough section of the trail is the most scenic as it goes by the salt marsh with some pretty nice water views.
Here are some pics I took yesterday....

At the end of the trail in Scarborough we take a left and end up at El Rayo Taqueria. https://www.facebook.com/elrayoscarborough/ It is just off the end of the Scarborough trail and sidewalks all the way so its a pretty safe route as the further down you go it gets quite busy with no bike lanes. The route I mapped out is very safe and bike friendly the whole way. As always I hope that people spend the weekend. Festivities after the ride are open to suggestion. Beach, Bonfire, Bowling... Meet up time...1 O'Clock or to be determined.. Who is in?

That’s an incredible post! Researched, documented and real-time travel. I feel like I’ve already been there. But I will come up to see it for myself....Stevil

Distance is approx 8 miles from start to the end in Scarborough. It's approximately 2 miles further than the section we rode from Kennebunk to Biddeford last time we did the breakfast ride. Would have like to go further north to Portland Bug Light Park but unfortunately the trail doesn't extend that far you have to ride the road and I wouldn't ride that section of the road on my bike. and like I said there will be a couple stops for food and or refreshments and there's a nice spot that's about halfway up the trail . A little secluded wooded area off to the side that we could stop for cold bevvy from one of our coolers :) it would make for a nice rest stop..

A very well planed ride indeed, Jane; well done!

Can I bring a 10 speed bike my brother-in- law allowed me to sell at a swap meet last year, that I didn’t,and since it’s just hanging from the rafters with my bikes ,and got cleaned and fixed this past week cause I had some free time, I thought I’d use it.?

You can bring whatever bike you want but I don't need a 10 speed. I can barely put together a one speed and not kill myself riding it Lol! My knees are still black and blue from that last incident. But perhaps you can force whoever doesn't bring a bike to this event to buy it from you.

Jane, if we start the ride at 1:00 will we be out til dark ? In which case we should all check the illumination on our rides.
The forecast calls for cloudy conditions and I understand you still have no street lamps in Maine. So what do you suggest ?

Well,we did get a 16 mile ride done. Rained when we were inside so no problem. 13 riders was a new record but as pointed out in years past, a tough herd of cats. Alittle breakage,oh ok, some serious breakage but a team effort got everyone home. Thanks,Jane....Stevil
