The Jersey Devils Bicycle Club was founded in June 2011 as a way to
Bring the custom bicycle culture to our area through rides and events.
The idea and club name was first proposed by Mike Spinelli on Brian
Krzysztow's Undergroundvelo (UGV) Proboard Forum. The name was derived
from the legend of the Jersey Devil which folklore has it, inhabited
the Pine Barons of southern New Jersey. The name 'Jersey Devils' is
trademarked by the National Hockey League (NhL) and permission was
granted by the NHL's legal department to use the name for our club.
The central image or 'devil face' was suggested by Brian Krzysztow aand derived from the iconic image of Tillie which is painted on the side of the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, NJ. Chris Cominetto modified the image into its current devil form.
