If refering to the Univega, it sure looks like a lugged steel frame to me.The frame is actually aluminum and is super light.
The orange rust weep coming out of the stay drain holes gave it up too.Mangalight, I think it was a proprietary steel type used by Japanese builders such as miyata, similar to Reynolds 531 with manganese used in the alloy mix

Don't I know it.Which bike has the nicest finish on it? It's been noted recently that painting is tough to do in the winter unless you have the facilities for it.
