This is the sidecar from my previous build that didn't work out. I'm making some changes and converting it into a bike trailer that will resemble a chariot. This will also give me a project to work on until the next build off.
Here are the initial plans:
1. Use 20" wheels instead of 26".
2. Mount the dropouts below the frame instead of above it.
3. Shorten the side supports to fit 20" wheels.
4. Add a trailer hitch mount under the center of the cage.
5. Make a bar that attaches the chariot to the bike.
6. Get hitch mounts and modify or make some.
7. Brakes on both wheels accessed by the rider.
7. Use scrap pieces and existing parts for everything.
I have 5" of ground clearance as it is, but need more for the speedbumps here, so the wheel will mount under the frame giving about 12-14 inches of height with 20 x 3.0 tires.
Kalesa is the tagalog word for chariot.
