kickstand help

i have an old miller kickstand that is in pieces, i cleaned it up now im not sure how to assemble it. the stand itself has two cotter pin holes, spring, 2 cotter pins and the base. im not sure where the pins fit in to the spring. at first i put the small pin closest to the kickstand on the outside of the spring and put the big outside pin on the oustide of the base but it pushes the kickstand to far out and it turns in a 360. it was apart when i found it.

Post some pics of what you have. I believe Miller made a couple different kickstands.
