Received the latest copy yesterday, and the forum is ALL OVER this issue.

The Auction bike is on the cover, and there is an article about the build.

Way to go Steve, and RRB'rs!

Thanks Jerry! :D

Fun seeing the forum get coverage.

I will say for the record that I don't support the liquor ads and the F bombs that get dropped, but I have no control over that.

I'm not personally offended by the F bombs, but really, they have no place in that magazine... JMHO.

Yeah, good magazine and all but they do have to cut down on the swears :) Younger people (me) are reading them and I don't really like that. Anyway, very cool to see the auction bike and the builders

Very true. I really would like to see it cleaned up a little bit but I understand the liquor ads. 90% of their subscribers are members of bike clubs and beer and pub rides go along with a lot of clubs. My club, Coaster KBC, does not include the drinking in our events but not all clubs are as family oriented as ours.

NOTHING against any of that. Its just my opinion. Overall love the magazine and looking forward to issue #9!

Great magazine. I got two free copies, 7 and 8, from my LBS who said that I could take all I wanted because they can't even give them away. Oh well, fine by me, I'll just keep stopping buy from time to time and getting them from them for free!

Magazines typically seem more professional when language is kept in check.

Exactly! From what I've seen as well, if a magazine starts off with foul language it won't last long and when a magazine starts allowing more... downhill.

I don't curse, but I understand when someone curses around me, it's sometimes built into people and comes out as an exclamation, but I think it should never be written or certainly published unless it must be quoted, even then it can be censored.

The same conversation without expletives will always sound more intelligent.

I think the reason that some LBS have problems selling the mag is because it's low on their list of things to push. Most bicycle mags at the shops are usually off to the side and regularly buried under other stuff. Also many shops aren't really into the types of bikes that Kickstand is centered around. Again this has to do with what most bike shops push onto the public.

About the criteria of the mag. I can run with the best of the cussers and for some people it's just part of their everyday talk, but there is a time and place to use certain words if they are to be used at all.The mag definitely steps over this boundary from time to time. But I am also turned off by some of the products that they promote such as beverages, music and gimicky stuff. It's not because I'm against any of them but that I can find this stuff in other mags that are specific to the products. In this sense it's not just Kickstand but just about every mag on the shelves anymore.

Kickstand defintely fills a void in the Cruiser/Kustom world. They have proven that they can put out a mag that is of interest to our culture. They try to represent what is going on in our little two wheeled world and will only help our hobby to grow.

As far as the mailing of the mag, I've noticed that the mail in general seems to be increasingly slower than in the past. I have sent stuff out to people recently that has taken two to three weeks for them to get, when in the past a few days was considered a long time. I would venture a guess that this plus the pressures of meeting deadlines comes into play on when the mags are printed and sent. The LBS that carry the mags would probably get theirs sooner because of how things get shipped.
