STBO Kintsugi

Ratrods are Relative.

Ive been out of the game for a while due to limited garage space and time but happened upon this frameset over the summer and couldnt pass up on the color. The frame is used with a fair amount of chips and scratches so I’ll be giving it the Kintsugi (Golden Repair) treatment.

This is probably the biggest scrape.



Never going to match a paint with this much flop so we’re going for gold.

Slow going over here. Found some 650 wheels and some take off tires I bought at some swapmeet but I didn't have any rim tape.

Greased up this spiffy 27.2 Kalloy seatpost only to find out the seat tube is 26.8.



Of course the only one I had in that size was this fancy forged Nitto S65. It was a swap meet score but...



I figured if that was going to be blinged out, I might was well use one of these Sugino Messenger cranks I'd been saving for a cool project. Of course it has a 1/8 chainring so I'm waiting on a new one.



Its a roller. Just need to get that chainring and then we can start with the do dads.
