I use street 2.125 whitewalls on one of my klunkers and I really can’t tell any difference that knobbies make. If it’s wet, well that’s different. With a crude single speed and a heavy bike you’re not going anyplace where you would need real expensive tires. Real nice klunker you built.View attachment 284106
That looks great, beautiful bike thanks for sharing.
I tried the current knobbies on wet soil, but I would like to have more grip than my current Berm Masters, that is why I decided on the Schwalbe Magic Mary's. I can sell these tires, they are nearly new.

New word for me. Google search had all the answers for me!
Ah! A new Rabbit hole to check out

I settled on the paint. I put a sticker and a high gloss clear coat on it and this looks good. The sticker is not in line with the (colour) theme of the bike, but I kinda like that.

Sweet!

The bike is finished!
I am very happy how this turned out!
the bike is basically new, since the base only saw ten kilometers or so.

I assembled chain tensioners, large washers for the coasterbrake arm and the new tires!

This is how it looked before:

26x2.35. Tight fit!

Those Magic Marys are awesome tires. Great job on this one, it's got the full classic klunker vibe, very cool!
And immediately gets a nod of approval from Duck Norris. You're going to have a lot of fun on that one
Thanks guys! Would be pretty cool if we could 'easily' klunk and ride together.

I'll post some pictures/videos when I attend a mountainbike ride!

Had the first mountainbike ride with this klunker today!
Hellendoorn/Nijverdal is a hilly track with long climbs and some short hard descents.

I took the 30 kilometre route. It was freezing this morning, so I took my wintergear.

After a check inn and a entry fee of 7 euro's I started.

The first 20 kilometres was pretty energetic and fast paced. Lots of mountainbikers commenting they liked my bike (klunkers aren't farmiliar here).

The climbs of the last 5 kilometres were hard, my legs were sore. I was tired.

The last descent was great, lots of hard cornering, great fun!

The bike held up great! Hard stumps and descents combined.
Only need to clean and adjust the little bit of play in the bottom bracket and hub again.
