If I get a 36-hole motorcycle rim, can I lace it to a bicycle hub? I'm guessing I'll need to use some kind of washers to keep the bicycle spoke nipples on the extra-large rim holes...

Has anyone done it? Tips? Advice?

bicycle spokes and motorcycle spokes are way dif in size- diameter. plus length.
not to mention the hub lacing is way dif as well.

The difference in diameter is what's worrying me, but I think that can be managed. There are many spoke lengths to choose from, and I think I can borrow a thread-roller tool for spokes, if I need to. The lacing pattern is not a problem, as long as the holes on the motorcycle rim are configured the same as on a bike rim.

I've searched a bit (maybe should have done that before posting  , did search RRB, however) and found this. It can be done!
