finally got a chance to post last summers find. Found it between Colorado Springs and Kansas at a run down antique store.
Head badge is rough, looks like someone used some brasso on it and tried to antique it because it looks like bolt threads hammered into it. Its a Hawthorne Trailblazer.
Interesting seat, no cover and its wooden. Must've been a farmer repair.
Stem is welded to the locknut but at least the seat post wasn't frozen.
Not sure what I'll do with it, I get so many ideas looking at the posts on here.

The seat was nicely crafted :wink:

I saw another wooden seat a while ago, a lot like this one, it was also on this site... maybe it's not homemade?

Based on the space between the rear tire and fender, it might be that this beast was converted from 28" singletube to ballooner... the blade looking fork would fit the conversion IMO. I would guess the fork, wheels and fender are newer than the frame.

With some careful work I bet you could free the locknut from the stem.

I say rat it. :mrgreen: I love it.
