Re: Lemon Peeler - Resto Finally Started!

My next task is to take a shot at rebuilding the springer sissy bar and seatpost.

Re: Lemon Peeler - Resto Finally Started!

I love the feeling of taking something like that fender and putting the polish to it and see it shine again. It's very... I don't know ... amazing seeing something come up beautiful like that.

Re: Lemon Peeler - Resto Finally Started!

How's this thing doing :?: I can't wait to see more

Re: Lemon Peeler - Resto Finally Started!

WOW! That hard work is paying off! Can't wait to see it done and back together.

Re: Lemon Peeler - Resto Finally Started!

I had to be very careful not to wipe the screen print right off.

Re: Lemon Peeler - Resto Finally Started!

Got to love good old fashioned Schwinn chrome! I've had some really grungy looking 50+ year old Schwinn parts come back to life like new, I've had Wal-mart Chinese chrome start rusting before I got it home. They just don't make 'em like they used to.

Re: Lemon Peeler - update 4/18

A few more finished parts. Completely tore apart the springer and cleaned all the rust off each part. I also had to bent the supports back to straight. had to replace the upper bolts too. This thing was ridden hard it's whole life.

Re: Lemon Peeler - update 4/18

Comin' right back to life! Those Krates are fun to work on, and clean up so good! Good luck with it.

Re: Lemon Peeler - update 7/16

It is starting to come together. Found some nice replacement pedals. The old ones were bent. Also cleaned up the shifter and hooked it up to a new derailuer

Re: Lemon Peeler - update 7/16

You've got to have endurance to take on some of these old Schwinn detailing jobs. Sometimes it feels like the parts to detail never ends.

It's looking great so far.

Re: Lemon Peeler - update 7/16

This is a continuous inspiration.I want to save this thread to look at after one of those days where everything went wrong.

...like today.

Keep it up; it looks great so far.
