Everyone here and miles around knows about this place. It's been in business for many decades. This is where I get most of repairs done on my bikes and get a few parts from time to time. If you ever in San Jose, or in the SF Bay Area, this place is worth a visit!

Used to be full of bikes and racks of parts all the way to the back. A few years ago, during the housing boom, the city made him clean up the site.

Bikes, bikes and more bikes. This guy has the market cornered on Silver Kings. He told me that he has about 14 of them in various stages of completeness.

He has more bikes and parts stashed away in the back of the house and in a white building in the back of the property. He really has to know you in order to allow to get to the stash.

Dude I'm SOOOOOOO going here tomorrow!!!

Alex, the proprietor, is "hit and miss" over there during the week. He has a consulting job that takes him away from the shop (he also lives upstairs) sometimes during the week. A good time to catch him is on the weekends. If the weather is nice, he'll have the chainlink fence gate open and would be working on a few bikes outside. I would call before going, but he never answers the shop phone. I have his cell phone number, but he's very particular about giving it out.

You can try your luck during the week, but you might have to go back on the weekend. Plus, it's better to go on the weekend when he has the yard open. You can then rummage through the parts to see if you find something to your liking. Also, bring cash. He's not into checks and debit/credit cards. He's very old school.

They had a quick shot of that place in Klunkerz, was wondering where it was probably been by there several times. Thanks for posting.

it looks like a "just because i can " kinda rim.

i'm dying to know what the jumbo skip tooth sprocket is for (you can just see it in the far right of the same picture.)
