Since I build stretched cruiser frames, I'm always looking for long handlebars. The
companies tell you width ,rise and size tubing. They never list the length.
Anybody found any long ones?

The ones I extended today are 14'' from the stem to a stick across the ends. These feel good length wise
, but really don't accent the frame any. I will check out those you used Thanks.

Yep! " Monster Cruiser Handlebars " ( looks chrome to me ) 34 3/4" wide,and 14 1/2" pullback. I don't know how you make a turn with those things. $44 delivered. custommotoredbicycles.com

It helps to be sitting way back over the rear wheel.
Thanks for the site. I like all the rulers. I will call them Monday and see what they have.

You can get ones for stretch cruisers. They have more pullback. My problem is I need more pullback with more height. I like the ones on my Basman but the grip angle for some people is odd because the bars come straight back.

These are from http://www.statussuspension.com/cru...e-cruiser-handle-bars-22-2mm-dia-53-29-1.html.

I switched to these Nirve bars to get more height but they don't have enough pullback. They are also much narrower so the steering is a little twitchy.

When I lived in Charleston I went to the motorcycle shop and bought, "Lane Hogs," but don't remember their manufacturer.

The ones I have a 31'' to the outside wide and 14 1/4'' pull back. I'm looking for some
maybe a little narrower and maybe a little longer. I added 4'' to these already.
Nick do you have a way to measure the ones you have? They are defiantly priced right.

Outsider those look cool , but I am going to pickup several for future builds, and CHEAP needs
to be involved here.

The moon bar is the same dimensions as what you have except 32" wide.

The bars on my Basman have about 18" of pullback. Migz sells them but he hasn't been able to get me a set of chrome ones yet. I was going to try those on my stretch.

I wonder if you couldn't reshape your current bars to make them narrower which would give you a bit more pullback.

Here you can see how straight back the grips are on the Basman. They're nearly parallel. They steer great but you really have to hang on when going up a hill to keep from sliding off the seat since you're already pushing against the pedals instead of being above them on a regular bike.

I have tried to bend chrome ones and never had much luck. The 32'' ones are kinda hard to get
through doors. We don't have any hills where I live. All flat. I was going to try to find some 7/8 stainless
tubing and bend a set. I have some 1'' stainless and can bend it with my bender, but then you have to
use motorcycle grips and maybe grind some grooves for the stem to hold on to. I will try a set maybe
tomorrow if I can. Its kinda hard to make a decent looking set. I have tried several and they just don't
look that good. Maybe I will get lucky. I only have 6' of the 1'' stainless so its a one time shot.

Well you could always go back to the push mower bars.

I've added extensions to mine by cutting straight mtb bars and shimming them together with conduit before attaching them with self tapping screws along the bottom. Seems to work pretty good for me. Here's a set on my Royal...

and on Locomotive Breath...

I called a few places today looking for some 7/8'' stainless. They want a bunch
and they want you to buy a minimum amount. Maybe I can find a deal on some.

Why not try Aluminum? Lots of handle bars are made from it. Looks like it is about half the price.

I read a few tips for bending it. Either fill and freeze water or some sort of spring inside.

I really have never tried to mess with aluminum any because I can't tig. It
might work pretty good if I can bend it. Most of my dealings with aluminum,
you bend it and it breaks. I know they anneal it somehow and it bends better.
With regular steel if you bend some then your choices are to paint...crappy , powder
coat , or expensive chrome....cost preventative.
