That bike almost came home with me.

I didn't look for it when I was browsing, but is there a serial number under the bottom bracket or on the head tube or on the drop outs? Someone who knows will probably ask so I figured I would in advance.

That's really a pretty frame.

Your bike has Colson's version of forward facing dropouts. I believe they were introduced in about 1950 and continued in use through 1953. In 1954 the frames were redesigned under the new Evans ownership. The serial number is probably still located on the underside of the crank hanger but later Evans models have the serial number stamped into the off-side rear dropout.

I just love seein all these old bikes gettin dug up lately. This one's really cool. Can't believe all the different styles used on bikes thru the years.
