STBO Luck Be A Lady

Lucked into this 54 Higgins skip-tooth.

For a start, she needs a good cleaning, maybe a little BLO or Wax. Lube on the chain. Front fork needs to be slightly straightemed. Horn tank works, just need to add some new batteries. This fine Lady also needs some new shoes.

Get her Rollin and maybe she can add a bit of luck to get us out of this funky part of whatever you call it that we've been dealing with the last few months.

Put a tire on the back, cleaned the chain with some bathroom cleaner, and oiled it. Rides pretty well. Has a wobble and needs true-ing. Hub needs rebuilding, it's soft on the brakes.

Took off the tank to replace the batteries and found the tab the button contacts is corroded. Broke off when I touched it ...

Will have to find figure out how to fix it.

Started washing and rubbing down parts today.

More disassembly. Fender braces are rivetted.

Wheel hubs coming apart next.

Need a new set of front bearings. Will be going to the LBS when they.open at 10 today.

Not gonna fully pull apart the rear coaster. Just repack the bearings and add a little great to the assembly and going to call it good

Couldn't find rigjt sized front hub bearing rings to replace the rusted out one. 22 singles instead.

Put anti seize on the seat post and took her for a spin last night.

Rear hub loosened up after a few brake tests, will tighten it up.

Need to figure out what I'm going todo with the seat.

I can't wait to get the horn tank working again. Need to find some copper terminal material to solder a new contact for the button to engage with.

Thinking of putting this old age faded delta jet light on this build.

A couple of winters ago I added an LED to it and cleaned up all of the contacts inside.

Will need to flatten a spot on the fender, make a composite or rubber base and drill a couple holes.

The light matches the patina of the whole bike, looks like it came with it way back when.
