Making a cool security chain

Obtain a length of big, heavy chain to your liking.

Cut an old inntertube off on both sides of the valve.

Slip it on over the chain and stick it on there if you like with some old bolts, locks, add grommets if you like, write on the sheath with paint marker...

Get a heavy duty padlock, or secure a badger to your bike with your new chain.

Saw these for sale at my LBS and thought, "cool" 8)
 
I had an old bike lock made from chain with an intergrated lock. I put innertubes on it also but I secured the tube with zipties.
 
I made a sleeve for my chain with a section of corduroy-like upholstery fabric sewn into a "tube." Works well and offers a bit more protection than an inner tube (though if I did it again, I'd probably use an inner tube as the first layer.)
