My new to me Marin Lombard 1. I think it’s a 2016, 3x9 with a Sora Groupset. When I got it I had a couple flats and needed new bar tape and some smalls details needed attention.

I tore it down and cleaned it up.
Shifter window needed some help.

Cleaned up the wheels, small tune up and added a Brooks B17 along with a frame and saddle bag. I did add some flat pedestal pedals but I’ll be swapping them to some KKT pedals with cages.

It’s my first ever road bike and after my first ride I was hooked!

Could it be considered a gravel bike? It came with 700x35 tires and there’s space for bigger. I don’t know anything about road bike geometry.

What did you use to clean the shift indicator window? That came out great!

Cool Bike, BTW
Thanks dude!

I sanded it down with automobile sand paper starting with a 800-1000 grit and moving up to a 5000.
Keep it wet while sanding then give it a coat of wax when finished and you’re good!

Thank you!!
Oh I only did the outside of the window. I’m sure the inside could’ve used a little treatment too but I got lazy.

Dremel polishing wheel should work too with a small amount of automobile lens restorer polish.

That’s great that you have room for wider tires. I come across a lot of really nice ‘older’ road bikes that were designed for 700x23 tires and there isn’t much room to go wider.
