hello all!

This is a bike I built a few months ago.

The original bike was a 1978 Murray Monterey beach cruiser. (thats what I was told, havent been able to verify, but I ran with it, becuase it sounds cool as hell) all original, from the original owner, with some rust.

I rode it around as is for awhile until i got bored.

here is what resulted.

Pretty much got rid of everything I didnt need. fenders, chain guard, brakes.

bought white tires (HARD TO FIND IN LOCAL STORES) for 4 bucks each, brand new (A CRAZY DEAL) and cut down some half moon handlebars.

It was a single speed with a single rear drum brake. nothing else. I had a nice front brake on it but i realized I used the rear more.

alright, well, heres the kicker. this bike was STOLEN from my house about 2 weeks ago. sooo maybe if anyone in the los angeles area sees it around, ask the guy riding it some questions, becuase it certainly wont be me, the one who built it.

specifically, it was taken from the San Gabriel Valley area of los angeles, by where Rosemead meets El Monte.

anyways, I plan on building another just like it since I doubt ill ever get it back. going to be hard to find a bike with similar vintage, it had some really cool parts that just arent common to see on newer bikes, like the wide steel rims and the unique fork, the frame had a good curve to it.
