Man, when you weld Luke, you really weld,, I usually just tack and drag , tack and drag , a little more here... maybe there and...BAM, that join't is done....next joint !

OH..but you should have seen the welding on a Wal-mart Beach Cruiser that I fix n' flipped about two months ago...the top tube was 'tacked' in like 3 places..and two of them missed :21:....completely.

Bomb Proof...some very impressive, [and labor intensive] fabrication work there friend
This bike is going to be stellar.

Thanks everyone!
Came up with what I hope will be a cool idea for the bottom bracket adjustment today, hopefully have it riding soon!

The idea involves a pivoting bottom bracket and a slide adjuster, going to harvest the pivot and bottom bracket of a full suspension MTB...

Luke.

Finally having some decent weather here, just catching up on chores and vehicle maintenance and progress can resume!

Spent this morning adjusting the rear brakes on the replacement car for my wife, goes in for road worthy check tomorrow...
They appear to have not been working for a while, there was rust in the drums on the braking surface!
I could tell they were out of adjustment when I test drove it before buying it, but had not expected them to be that far out! Drives much better now... :)

Car passed road worthy, got most of the lawn mowed, got a few things to do tomorrow, but good weather for the rest of the week, so bring on Friday and Saturday! I want to ride this thing!

Luke.

Ok, car is registered, spent yesterday moving our stuff from the old car to the new one, and changing over the headunit, parked the old Camry out the back next to the parts car Datsun, which left me pretty much up to date on work around the house...

So you know what I did today?

And... The locking differential concept works!

:banana::banana::banana:
Started off by adding in the support bars between the frame top and bottom tubes:

A little weld clean up and smoothing the curve with a flap disc:

Then on to tacking on the pivoting bottom bracket cut from a full suspension kids bike:

Lining up the chain line to cut the clearance holes in the diff cover:

Cut the slots and lined up the chain:

And then the other side:

All done for the day:

All it needs to be rideable now is the slide adjustment lock on the pivoting bottom bracket! Should be riding in the next couple of days!
