thanks luke this ones taking some time but when it's done it will be sweet i think i have found all the problems and ironed them out for now now i just got to finish the bodywork and paint and then i cna get her done still need a fe parts like brake cables and a few other things but i will get them eventually

well more progress i have figured out how to mount the speedo on the tank plastics i drilled a hole and bolted it thru the plastics then i ran the cable thru the bottom and out to the wheel it will fit with no issues but i have to modify the wheel a bit to fit the speedo drive gears i think i also found a way to mount the rear fender where it looks cool and will work with the brakes so it looks like i can use at least the rear fender at this point next step is making the case for the speedo and finishing the console another idea i cam up with is if i decide to run lights on this build which i am unsure of yet is to run the wires into the console and have the switch in the console but i am not really thinking of lights at this time more updates soon

i also got bored and built this junkyard street grinder out of some junk parts the pedals may be used on my main build though

another idea i had was mount the chainguard as it sits and cut a hole so the chain can go thru it give it a rat look but not sure i like it like that any ideas? i will get a better pic of my idea tomorrow

i like that rear red fender and speedo :113:
chain guard look nice, it won't mount at the right spot ?
yeah it will with a little more modifying but i haven't mounted it just yet i just put everything on it to get the look and make sure everything is fitting the way it is supposed to but i am thinking of ideas to really make this pop i might go back to the original chain guard which was this one but i don't want to paint this one still undecided

well not much progress but i did get the speedo hooked up and it functions but now i am having trouble mounting the tank plastics to the frame i will have to do some more modifying to make them work he trouble is the speedo base and mount sticks thru too far and is hitting the frame i will figure it out but a little more bodywork and a few adjustments and it's ready to be painted will take a pic tomorrow

well since the original forks were not working and were bent i decided to use these forks instead the good news is i can now mount my front fender without modifying it i also added some different brakes and found a cable all from a donor bike that fit perfectly.i figured since i got the tires cleaned up and the wheels fixed i would do some test fitting and it loosk good so far i forgot to take a picture of the fender but i will tomorrow going to be going into paint and final bodywork next week then assembly and test riding and i should be done i might build a second one out of the elftover parts i have but unsure yet

thanks onehorsepower yeah i cleaned them up a little and trued them a bit but they still need some work the tires came out really good i used car trim color restorer on them and let them dry for 2 days. the forks do seem like they will not need painting just some cleaning and removing the decals. .
they make the bike look like the thunder roads with the fenders im using so i do like the way they look as well the brakes were on a road master mountain bike that was generous enough to donate its front forks to this build. the only problem with these forks is now my speedo cable don't reach so i have to go to my lbs and see if he has a cable long enough to reach the new forks i really do not want to re mount the speedo it will throw my whole build off so keeping fingers crossed

Love that rear cam brake!

Luke.
thanks luke i did not know what they were called but they were on a mountainbike my neighbor gave me that just was not worth fixing up i still have another caliper but its a front brake i think their leech brand the levers have covers on them and they seem pretty well built so i decided to use them since the cable fits this build already i was hoping that would save on expenses but then the speedo cable is too short with the new forks so i have to go to my lbs and buy that they seem to really grab even though i have to adjust them since i plan on riding this once it is done i need something that can grab good

we got a rider!!!!! i got the bike altogether with the exception of the rear fender and chain guard and behold!!!! it lives!!!!!!! still gotta make a few adjustments but as you can see it rides but still not finished. i rode it all the way to the bike path and back with no problems but she sure does like to wheelie i am OK with that though next steps get a speedo cable long enough for the forks mount the rear fender and chainguard then tear down again and repairing the plastics and off to paint the brakes hit the tire so i may have to mount them under the mounting bracket but enough talking here is the current stage as of 5 pm tonight also i had to use the kickstand off the donor bike mounted more forward so little advice if anyone does fork swaps like this use a 26 inch bike kickstand and it will work but mount it slightly forward to compensate for the bikes stance this one works fine and does not hit anything

Cool stuff! You have achieved the Moto look!

Luke.
thanks luke yeah it reminds me of a miniature pedal powered Honda rebel there is still plenty to do but it is ridiable just has no brakes still i have to either adjust the pads or remount them plus the chain needs adjusting as you can see it is loose it hops a little but has not fell off as of yet but in order to make it eligible it has to ride safely so that will be fixed as soon as final paint and bodywork are done im about 75 percent done i am sure there will be more work to do but it;s progressing

Nice !! :rockout:
If you reverse the seat clamp it will bring your seat forward about 2''
that's not a bad idea i might do that it rides fine just has the typical thunder road(if anyone has ridden a thunder road you'll understand} nosediving when cornering the front wheel tries to hug the corners a bit much but man what a smooth ride don't wanna brag but i did this one right mechanically all it needs is some fine tuning i am gonna try your idea tomorrow on the seat clamp
