(MBBO #4 CLASS #1) The EXECUTIONER

Decided to toss my hat in the ring. My 9 year old son and I will work on this together. I'm short on ideas but I know it won't be crusty, I'm going for clean classic looks. I have pretty much everything I need for the build just short a chain guard, maybe.

This is what I'm starting with. I've always wanted a rail because I'm over 6 feet tall. My wife picked this up for me a month ago at a garage sale for cheap. Bless her heart for feeding my addiction.

It's got a coat of blue house paint over everything. I can tell it was a Huffy Judge in a previous life by the greenish yellow and red fade paint showing through in places. Yes someone's dad tried to hook his kid up with a bmx from a Huffy Judge frame, which I can forgive. The blue paint on the other hand is unforgivable. So in honor of the fool who destroyed the paint and lost that seat. You shall receive no Judge, no Jury thus all that remains is..................................

The EXECUTIONER!

I Tried a heat gun and goof off. It seems bonded to the paint.

Tore it down today. It's got a date with a sand blaster hopefully by the rnd of the week.

Thoughts on the 26 inch bmx style fork?

picked the yellow Stingray up last week, just short a chain guard...what is it with me buying bikes without guards lately?

Next step.....To the parts bin!

I'm heading out on a dumpster dive mission for something special for the build. I saw it in a steel recycling dumpster a day or 2 ago, hope it's still there. It's not steel so it not theft.... Still waiting for the cover of darkness though. Cue mission impossible theme.

The fruits of our labor. Shout out to my crutch Tator who helped with the mission.The plan was for ski masks and a few pictures for effect, but then it started raining so we yanked the wheel disk the guard and Tator grabbed the speedo and we hit the road.
The disk is for the executioner, the rest is bonus.

Also I need to clean the workshop up before I get any further.

But that can wait....I earned a beer.

I'm using 24" BMX forks on mine, so you have my vote!
If the front looks too high you could always put a forward bend in the fork tangs.

So the frame is getting blasted this weekend, I need to get on with the parts.
First the wheels: no original 5 speed, going with a coaster brake no cables equals cleaner, cheaper and quicker for this one, considering our late start probably wise. Bendix 76 will provide the stopping power on an exceedingly wide and heavy rim. Tonight I'll yank the tires and clean up the surface rust and rebuild the rear hub. Those knobby white walls have got to go. I have a carlisle slick from a cheap girls bike I found in the trash, it's only 1.75 inches so it's a bit narrow but it may work. If I need to go fatter it will be modern to save on cost.
