Mercury year???

Picked up this Mercury today, skip tooth chain, serial # 143015 any idea on year?

I couldn't tell ya exact year but I'd say late 40s early 50s.

Very cool trailer. Bike is probably late 40's early 50's. Should also be some letters stamped as part of serial number. That will pin down the year.
