Since I’m waiting on parts for my Schwinn strandie build and waiting on May 1st for my Strato Flyer build off bike, I got bored and decided to play!
I’ve had this old frame laying around for years, and I’ve always liked the shape and angle of the seat tube and dropped down rear bars that
intersect with the seat tube and top bar. It kinda has a turn of the century of motorcycle look to it, so I drug out some JC Higgins fenders, some old ratty balloon tires on rusty drop center wheels, and mocked it up with a seat that I pulled off of a 50’s Shelby girl’s bike.
I like the look of it. The top bar seems to go slightly uphill, which is kinda different and it has the old motorcycle look that I sorta thought it would. I may fab up a slanted rectangular tank for it and see how it looks.
I’m still playing with the front fender and plan on adding a bottom brace that runs downhill like the older bikes did. If I do the tank and it turns out well, I might break it down and blast everything and paint it black, put white tires on it, and slap some 1905-ish era gold and red Harley decals on it.
