metal?

borrowing a welder heedfully Monday. what kind of metal should i use and how do i get it? i usually use conduit but i dont think its strong enough i was think on adding a side car on the side of my crappy mongoose.

Larger conduit (1")has thicker walls and should be strong enough for a sidecar. Either way, thicker steel is better. Maybe check a salvage yard for some cheap black iron pipe or use angle iron or flat steel.

I think the conduit will be fine , add some gussets and croosbars .

I always use conduit, no problem. ya may need to put in some support but I doubt it.
