I'm thinking about buying a Micargi "The General". I like the cruisers in that style BUt hate the whole olive drab military look. I'm thinking if they are nice riding bikes it might be a good candidate for a repaint. Who rides one ? How are they? Thanks.

IMHO the adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. I'm guessing most are sold based heavily on price point. They have nice styling, which they shamelessly "borrow" from other builders. A friend of mine purchased one as a raffle give away for a fund raising ride we did. He brought it to me to make sure it was in good riding condition. It took a little work to get it there right out of the box. And it seemed pretty cheap to me. Not something I would want to own long term.
