MiniPixieRay (Out Riding Around)

Ok, since I am doing a mockup of the MiniPixieRay I thought I would start a new thread for it.

Thanks to Kingfish254 I can build a baby brother to MegaPixieRay, he sent me the original Pixie that inspired my RRBBO8 build.

My wheels are already turning...

The MiniPixieRay...

To fit a 20" wheel in the back I will have to make an extended dropout adapter of some type.

Only need about a 2" extension on the end and I have an idea already.

Ok, I have to get this going also...

I will put one more bolt and a screw in the plate extension, plus another plate welded to the other side of the extension that will sandwich the original dropout.

Still need to drill two more holes in each plate and weld another small plate onto the back of the extensions to sandwich the original dropouts between.

I don't think I can go any bigger on the crank sprocket (40T on it now).

Not totally digging the forks on there right now, they look to cheep in my opinion.

Thanks... now I need a nanner seat and sissy bar on the cheap. I will most likely cut the cross bar off the handle bars I have on it now and make them into mini apehangers.

Well until I get the correct head tube bearing cups the MiniPixieRay is at a stop. Though I do have the dropout extensions totally fabricated up.

Here is a side by side view of Mega and Mini together being held up by my son acting goofy.

She is getting closer.

I have a set of old school stingray forks on the way to me. I will then mount a set of brakes on them pulled from a Schwinn Varsity 10 speed.

Big brother is looking after the little one.

You can't see it real well here, but the kick stand that is on here now was off of a Schwinn Varsity 10 speed that I cut down and also cut, notched, bent and welded the end that sits on the grond.

I think the forks are very much like the forks on the big brother. I would paint them red and you'd have a good match.

Ok I just fitted the chain on little brother and found that the chain is really close to the seat stay. Had to flip the 16T cog around so the dishing of the cog was to the inside which gained me enough space that the chain won't rub the stay.

Ok here a few more shots showing the chain and its clearance...

I got a new crank from yoothgeye which is a 5.5" crank that gives a little more clearance at the front tire plus I installed a set of Schwinn forks and head tube cups/bearings. Soon I will have my Black Nanner seat with a set of Ape Hanger Bars.

Took it for a ride this afternoon and it works great, but if you think the Beast feels cramped this tops it. Though I think after the seat and handlebars get changed out it will be allot less cramped.

Thanks... I'm thinking about spraying it in red again and also hitting the forks with black or red and then putting a new Schwinn decal back on it...

Was riding this bike today and found that you need to watch that you don't pull back on the bars to much or you will pop the front wheel off the ground really easily... :mrgreen:
