how has the fall weather been in your neck of the woods? this is usually my favorite time of the year to ride, but it has done nothing but rain, wind blowing, and down into the 40's here. hoping to get some riding time in this next week. supposed to shape up a bit and be in the mid 60's! :D oh, by the way, this question doesn't need to be answered by the one's who live in sunny california or any other state that stays warm and sunny most of the year! you make me sick! or is it jealous?!

Fall started yesterday here. It's been like a sauna all summer, high humidity and temps, just as bad as being too cold to ride, it has been too hot. Now it's perfect. Lows in the 50's and highs in the low 70's. I'll try to remember the camera tomorrow and get some pics of the Baldwin Rail trail. 3 of us brothers will ride about 30 miles. We rode a few weeks ago, and I couldn't get my t shirt off, it was stuck to me with the sweltering humidity.

This weather should last until December when it gets into the 40's, so I'm good until next year.

It's been in the 90's here with humidity in the low teens the last few days.

Gee it's been sunny and warm in Illinois forever!..........sorry I lied we get our sucky weather about 3 or 4 hours before Indiana. It seems like every morning I have to ride to work in the rain. Rough on my chain and cassett. I have been trying to ride either the 1941 Sivler Shield or the 1962? Murray to work on mondays and that seems to have worked to drive the rain away hey maybe I should just ride the old ones. I ride 7.5 miles each way with some hills so I get to test the pedals and stem a bit while standing.

Hello MurryMadman,

Last four days have been rainy, windy and temps in the 40's{F}.
I'm happy about the fenders on my bicycle in wet weather riding.
I'ts supposed to warm up again and am looking forward to at
least one more decent ride.

Already looking forward to next Mays arrival.

Cheers.

The weather here has been very decieving, it's nice and sunny maybe 65' so you think "great time for a ride" then an hour later it turns into a downpour with crazy winds and your stuck 10 miles from home with a T shirt and shorts on.

just walked outside to take the trash out, and the sun is shining and feels awesome. soooo, i grabbed the first bike i could get to and took a little ride around the neighborhood. looks like it is going to be nice atleast until wednesday, will take full advantage of it. :D sucks though, i am still getting over a headcold. oh well, whats more important, your health or riding?! that's what i thought!!!! :p

Western MA. Frost three mornings, last week. Temps around 30-40 degrees during the day. Called my son in the Berkshires, about 30 miles away, he said it's been snowing all day.

My last home in ND almost didn't get any summer. Those guys up there are tough, they make the city plow the trails all year round so they can ride every day.

it's been raining like crazy and warm down here lately, and then it turned pretty darned nippy without any transitional weather - highs only in the 50s yesterday! suppose to moderate into nice fall weather the next few days - looking forward to some dry days in the 60s and 70s for a little while yet.

i think it was about 38 degrees this morning when i rode the old rat to work. didn't matter, the sun was shining and it felt even better riding home in the low 60's! :D will do it all over again tomorrow!!!

yeah, even in "sunny california" it's been cooler than normal. i think it is gonna be a long, cold and wet winter... even here in "sunny california". this is why half of my commuter fleet has either a basket up fron, one in the back or a rear rack to help carry all my gear to/from work at 4am everyday. gonna make a "duck bike" with full on fenders a rack and a basket on a 3speed format onto my clunker of a diamond bike, my 90' huffy stone mountain for nasty wet weather commuting.

So far this Indiana fall sucks! I've got my fingers crossed for an Indian Summer.
Sean
