That's my bike, but it's in the same state of disrepair now, so I have not ridden it. I have ridden a bike with an original Monark springer & they do ride really nice! I also have a repop of the Monark springer, but have yet to put it on a bike. This type springer in it's original form are notorious for bent head tubes. Every one I have seen was at least bent a little. There are at least two versions of the repops, so it you get one, make sure it is the beefier later version, not the 1st version. They had a lot of trouble with breakage on the 1st generation of the repops. The second version is what I have & it is quite a bit heavier & sturdier. They are one of the coolest looking springers I have ever seen!

I run aftermarket springs (from Ebay) on my 1946 Super Deluxe. The original springs are a little soft. That said, I like the way my bike rides.

I agree, the original springs are a little soft & I only weigh 160 lbs, so add 40+ lbs to that & they will be real soft.

Its been discussed several times before. Trot down to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy
a set of porch swing springs. Then take them to any auto parts store. Buy 4 freeze plugs
that fit your springs. Drill a hole in the center of each that will go over the Monarch studs.
Add your springs and they will stiffen up the ride considerably .
Note the extended rockers on the yellow bike. The farther you go forward the softer the ride.
