I decided to save an abused Huffy frame from a trip to the scrap yard earlier this year and it's been great so far, bent wheels and all. But like any bike i own, it gets kind of boring after a while. Plus my lanky frame doesn't fit onto a regular bike very well. So i decided to do something about it, and along the way I'll add some new bits and bobs to make it more my style

I threw a beat up layback seat post on it from another failed project and it helps with the leg room. Now to do something with that unpadded, brilliantly engineered Huffy seat that doesn't even come close to matching the human anatomy, much less a man's particular needs.

I found the fork from the 16" girls OCC stingray from last year's attempt at the build off again. It'll easily fit a 26" wheel in it, but i think I can coax a 29er and a Thickslick in there

Well, got the 29er fitted. I've gotta say that damn, she's tight! I had to cut about 3/16" off the top and bottom of the head tube for it to fit

Also, i found a +1 use for a cutting torch: paint removal. This will save me several hours of sanding the chipped paint smooth

It's around 1/8" of clearance. We'll see how it fits on a hot day

I have half a mind to perfect my bolt on stretch modification from last year's failed On the Down Low build off attempt. I tried to go too extreme with bad bones and the project ripped itself apart. Not this time

It’s going to save you some $$$$ on grinding wheels and cutting wheels. Plus when my daughters start bring boys over GRRRRRR! That’s how I’m going to meet them, Torch in one hand and a 8lb beater in the other!!! Sit him down on my ANVIL and have a heart to heart

It's already paid for itself. I cut over 70 linear feet of 1/4" plate steel to make the pieces for my frame jig, which would have cost me around a grand to buy pre fabbed. Not to mention however many times I've used it to loosen stuck bolts. They can't be stuck anymore if they're a liquid
