So I was in my local Walmart today and I see something that made me look twice. We've all heard the numerous stories about backward forks and loose parts but this one takes the cake. I wish I'd have had my iPhone on me so I could have gotten photos.

Anyway on 2 bikes of the same make and model (Hyper Havok mountain bikes) the forks were BENT to one side. I mean a severe bend where the fork goes into the frame. I pointed it out to a guy there and he said that model would be pulled off the shelf and the company would be contacted for a possible recall. Also two other bikes had completely flat tires and one was obviously pre-owned (White tires with obvious use) but still full price. I did see one that was kinda cool though. A Schwinn Delmar with a built in bottle opener, painted in a satin black with red trim and whitewall tires on black rims. $119 I didn't buy it though.

I was in for something else and stopped in bikes for a tube. The shelf looked like a hurricane had hit it. One of the many, many bad things about wal mart is no one gives a squat about it, including the employees.

I prefer Target.

I like how when you look at the tires the boxes say Fits 1.75" - 2.125" instead of actually whats printed on the sidewall. A few times it has worked in my favor, when someone buys replacements for their bike then contact me because their bike needs "skinny" tires. So I let them dig thru my tire pile for the size they need and I get a basically new tire.

I was on a camping trip at a beach town and stopped by to get a spare tube and saw these. First time I'd seen them in person and they weren't even in the bike department. The campground even had some for rent.

Is that price $299.00 on the red one?

I think they were all $199.

The 32" ones were next to them. At another store I went to, they had about 15 32" ones locked up outside and they looked like they'd been there a long time, very dirty and the seats were faded. Still marked at full price.

The Wal-Mart's here don't have any of those 32 bikes. They had a nice Huffy Champion that I bought then the tube popped after a few seconds riding it so I took it back to get my money but I had to go through some bull to get it. The bike was also around $50 cheaper online too but since they don't price match I will get it online again at a later date shipped to home.

Although I had to go through that hassle, the day got better again after I bought a 2D to 3D LG tv that cost me $398 from it's original $598 price.
