Muitispeed 20" mag wheel

does it seem possible to install a multispeed hub, like a Sturmey 3 speed into a 20" mag, obviously need to cut out the coaster guts from the wheel.

anyone every heard of doing this or have any first hand experience to share?

Guess you could mill off the spoke seat area of the hub and the center of the rim then bond them together some how

I have a friend who works metal fab . He omce built a wheel designed to rivet a 36 spoke sturmey archer hub into . But it was so hard to balance and true he swore never again .

The Raleigh Vektar had a 3 speed hub in a 20" plastic mag wheel. It was specially cast together. Heres a web page with pics of a Vektar.

I had 2 Vektars, at the same time. Quite a rare bike tho.

There was also versions of the Raleigh Chopper that had cast alloy mag wheels, with the 3 speed in there.
