multi speed occ bicycle

Hey all i have a occ chopper bicycle with a 20x4 rear wheel and was wondering if there was a way to make this thing a multi speed .
Any one have any ideas?

yeah, all you need is shimano Nexus 3 (or even 7) hub and offset rear cog like this: http://classic-cycle.de/en/Hubs-Axles-C ... -22-T.html

The stock wheel is spaced at 170mm, most hubs are 135mm wide or smaller. You'll have to narrow the rear dropouts and bend them to make them parallel again (I did this on mine, put an 8-speed Sturmey hub on it.)

i have been looking at some hubs but everyone seams to make their measurments a little diffrent and i don't have the knowledge to make a good decision on what to get.
I did find this and i think it will fit with little or no mods.

That hub will fit the OCC frame with no mods. Just need to build a wheel with it.

Look for a Sturmey Archer SX-RB3 (band brake model) or the SX-RK3 (disc brake model)
I bought the SX-RB3 for my 'in progress' OCC-based build. I found an online shop in Oregon that had it for around $140. Chopperus gets them with the disc brake setup on them, they're sold out at the moment. But email Alan, he'll let you know when they come back in stock. It's truly the easiest way to get gears in the rear. hahahahahaaa that sounds funny. :mrgreen:
