Like I had said in a past post we have many different bikes on the go around here :D

For thoses of you who may not know I am now running a "Custom bike program" at my son"s Elementary school. The program is going very well and I will post some pics soon .....I need to get the thumbs up first by the principle.

This bike is my son's project...its a 76 Murray Wildcat I belive. I wish I had a start picture for you but I do not. The bike was in ruff shape with lots of rust and the front forks are not up to par for my standard, but my son and I have a plan.

All the students took thier bikes apart at the school and were asked to have the frames painted and returned in the new year

It's his project and mark so I'm having him do as much as possible
There is much still to clean off before primer but I thought you may like to have a look with the tank and fender on.

Both the tank and the rear fender cleaned up real well. Most of the paint was flacking off already. to finish it off I will do an old Model trick.....Easy bake Oven Off! spray the idems...seal them up...and let sit over night. By the next day you can wash the paint off.....(result may very)

Have a great Christmas I'll keep you posted as the build goes on

Well after the flood in the crawl space yesterday morning and then the big clean up and repair...and then the fans that were drying out my crawl space caught FIRE.... not to mention the city workers who broke the main shut off in the driveway :? .... :(

I had about enough and needed to relax and work on some bikes....

So I thought that the bottle nose dolphin and the rear fin could use some TLC (lolol UCWT)

The plastic was showing there age so I used some of my plastic model tricks to fill the cracks and chips using the Tamia plastic fill

I was also able to have my son sand down the remaider of the frame so that we could lay the first coat of Primer...

Looking sharp my man. lol joshua, my parents didnt have a choice with me, I used 2 sneek out in the garage and play with dads drill. All the holes are still in the work bench and the wall lol.

After drying there were alot of problems in the paint....IE...lint, some areas showed poor prep work. This was a good tool to show my son so together we WET sanded it with both 280 and then 400 grit.

once finished we felt due to our colour sceam it was best that we paint the frame "HotRod Black!"....(better for laying some cool lines onto  )

IMG_2699.jpg

as you can see this turned out much better! :D

next was the rear fender....we did multi coats of the colour coat before we layed down the clear. Due to the light, the green here looks lighter...... but it is closer to a jade!
