That looks good. I finally did my garage cleanup Thur/Fri getting ready for the next build...

Carl.

sent from my banana phone...
Thanks Carl, I think next week will likely see me cleaning up the shop, I've got 3-4 bikes outside I need to strip for parts. I also need to get rid of a lot of random stuff. My wife finally got a date for her officer training class, so looks like we're moving in late Nov.-early Dec. so I need to consolidate my parts dept.

Well, it's finished. I found the cable got it hooked up got the shifter and hub tuned up to each other, now to take it for a ride. I'll post some better finished pics when the rain moves out sometime later in the week.
I'd like to thank @Jsparks for the bike itself, @Crassly for the chainring, and @Dale Alan for the shifter. This has been a fun little project, and now that it's done, I think I'll take it for a ride.

What a great build!
I'd love to hear how you finalized the rust on that frame...just today I stripped and started rusting up an electra fender to go onto a stretched Schwinn canti frame (rusty chopper) and I realized right away that it was going to be a whole different story than the old schwinn steel !
Been using the vinegar salt peroxide mix, but it sounds like you're going straight peroxide ???
Really hoping to get close to matching rust on the fender!

One thing I learned working w/newer steel is the importance of etching it well before hand. You can do this with vinegar, I usually reduce mine on the stove to up the acidity. You'll want to put the frame, fender, etc. in the sun and spray it down w/several generous coats, when it starts take on a gold tone it's ready for peroxide. Straight peroxide will give you a brighter orange at first, you can add a couple ounces of vinegar to it and a small amount(I use 2 tbsp) of salt to it. The vinegar and salt speed it up if you're in a hurry. Once it gets the color you want, wash it a couple times with just water to neutralize it and clear coat if you want. Hope that helps. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.

I've been trying to thin the collection out a bit, over the weekend my wife graduated from O.T.S. in Montgomery AL. So, not only am I now the proud husband of a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, but I'm moving to San Angelo, TX, where she'll be doing her tch school.
I decided that my 52 Schwinn " Peggy Suicide", sans fork would be easier to move.

So I swapped out the triple tree with the springer from the Electra and made some space and some money to boot.
Today, my wife had to check in at Goodfellow A.F.B. in San Angelo. So, to give myself a break from packing up the house, I rebuilt the Electra, with the Schwinn's triple tree and clip ons, and I put on a Columbia chainring.

For as low as the bars sit, it's still a comfortable ride, I'll likely leave it like this for a while.
