These are my rides. The green one is my wife's. We think it's a hawthorne... It's got a skiptooth chain. I roll the spaceliner.

My spaceliner, pre-steel wool treatment.
Any help identifying the green one would be sweet. Check my intro. I'm new...
My newest acquisition...

Just got this new spaceliner project from the ever-popular online aucrion site. :-D I can't wait to get started on it... I really wish I would have learned about y'all sooner... I'd go for the build-off... But I'm sure there's always next year... I just don't see myself getting it done in a month... Although I probably have enought parts laying around...

hey... why not... im still thinking about entering.
Well, for one my wife said I need to tear her bike down and paint it and do all the little things she wants me to do before I start another "me" project... But I might be more persuasive than I think... We'll see...

Yep, the green one looks like a Cleveland Welding built Hawthorne. That chainring was most popular on Hawthornes.

So the Hawthorne's been torn down... It's recieving paint and new sprockets. And a new seat. And new tires. The old Goodyears are getting kinda tired and my wife deserves new tires... Plus then I don't gotta worry about her blowing out... Once it's done I get to start on my Cheapliner for the build-off.... I can't wait. :)

I have a smaller skip tooth sprocket off of a ladys Dayton from 40's. It would make it quite a bit easier to pedal, but you would still be able to keep the coolness of the skip tooth. PM me if you are interested.

So my wife's hawthorne started like this:

And now it looks like this:

Same bike, new look and it has a name. The Penguin's Revenge. Check it out in the builds section. In true rat rod form it's never done, so don't worry langsmer, it'll be a skippy again. I wanna work on the wheel though, and my wife wants a bike to ride though. so it's done... for now...
