picked this rollfast up last year from a feller who bought it new at the local hardware store in the late '40's i beleive he said. it is all original. i got the horn and light working, the only thing i had to do is put on a used set of argyle tires, greased the crank bearings and put on a new chain after it "popped" on the maiden voyage! :D it rides great. the chrome is pretty much shot, it is dirty, it has rust coming through the paint, and there is grease and dirt all over. it is just a cool bike and fun to ride. i would have a hard time redoing this one, if you know what i mean.

Well, don't, dip it in WD40 and use it.
Pretty close to my opinion. Wipe off the loose and keep it clean, original classic! 8)

p.s. send me the fork for safe-keeping!

oh, i have been using it! i ride it often. ya' know deorman, i would send you the fork for safe keeping, but i am afraid i would loosen up some of the rust taking it off and totally ruin the patina! dang the luck!!!

I have never seen an H.P. SNyder bike with that fork. I would guess that it is very rare.
I checked the Rollfast book, and they introduced that Schwinnesque springer, and the 5 spoke sprocket in 1954. That bike rocks! I have a very similar Hawthorne, but it has the older style springer. ~Adam
