So as you might know this is not my first post as a member on the site. It will actually be my 2738th post. I ran across my first post the other day while surfing the site and I wanted to share it with you guys.

I chimed in on a topic in the gallery posted by our member twisted steel about his first rat rod bike, so I got the bright idea to join the site and share a picture of my first Rat rod bike. Considering I had never been apart of any other forums and had not a clue on how to upload pictures, I gathered the knowledge I had and came up with this as a reply...

THIS IS MY FIRST RAT------->

Needless to say nothing else was said in the post. My awkwardness literally shut the thread down. Twisted steel (The Poster of the topic) probably got a kick out of the post. My picture was only 80x80, so the bike was nearly a blur and the way I chimed in on the conversation was awkward to say the least. But hey...we all have to start somewhere.

This comment was posted on Fri Jun 26, 2009 4:09 pm, 2 hours after I joined the site.

Now here I am almost 3 years later and 2738 posts later. So here is to all the noobs out there who will read this! I encourage you to go out and get that awkward post over with, and to all you site veterans, Share your first post with us. I'm sure it cant be as bad as mine!

Take in consideration I was only 14 at the time. I really had no clue on how to conduct myself in a forum, Now at 16, I try to post things that are more conversation worthy and important for the other members of the site to see.

You do well now. All of us have conversation enders still.

+1 You communicate very well now & also build a pretty mean bike! 8)

Well thanks!

Also I don't know if anyone every thinks of this but we live in a generation where all our post will be viewable some how some may 50+ years from now. Our thoughts, ideas, and bike build will be here for everyone to see many years from now. Anyone else find that really cool besides me? I know I will enjoy reading threw all this many years from now when all the bike building and riding is over for me. But who knows. RRb could be as strong or even stronger and boosting the bike culture every day as it does now.

... and if you follow Double Nickle's footsteps, you too may be cool enough to get your photo in Kickstand Magazine! 8) Thanks for all of your posts, Tyler!

Well If you follow my footsteps you might find yourself in a pile of broken, rusty, bike parts, so I don't think mine are the best to follow

To add what I said above..People are going to cry when they see the prices we are selling these bikes for. I'd say in the future, a classic Pre-war bicycle in somewhat recognisable shape will go for big bucks!

Cameron, that trike was awesome! Whatever happened to it? Bet it was hard to pedal. Anyway, not meaning to steal Double Nickle's thread, just curious. 8)

Here is one of my first posts. I guess I just hit the ground running. I always loved bikes and I was in the process of building one (My Bootlegger bike) when I found the site. I wanted an old hot rod greaser theme and being a car nut I knew about Rat Rods. So I thought to combine the two and an image search yielded a bike that linked me to this site. I just came out honest and enthusiastic. My welding skills have improved slightly.

Here's one from when I was a kid, I remember it rode like the frame was about to snap at any bump but it never did.
My welding skills haven't gotten much better either. I knew suspension bikes would take off eventually....Ha Ha.
Sorry I don't have any other pics of it, got stolen from the school.......some people.

I traded it for an '81 Schwinn Town and Country trike with a hub motor. The monster was set up with an 18 speed MTB drivetrain so it wasn't too bad to get moving. It was truly a monster and took up too much real estate in the garage. It had to go. Last I knew it was still in Wichita.

This was my first build. I built it for my wife. Originally got it from Cameron "udall custom bikes". He is the reason I came to this site. When I picked it up, he happened to mention "have you ever checked out the ratrodbikes website?" I went home looked it up & I was hooked!

Here's my first and my second...I had no clue what I was talking about and just wanted to chime in  I was 10!
