yeah, it is copper. i cut a strip out of a roll of copper flashing and beat it into submission with a ball ping and fiberglass hammer. as you can tell i wasn't going for the "smooth" look. i usually don't run fenders, but i thought this fit the bike's look pretty good. thanks for the comments!

thought i would add where the "poore boys bike" comes from that is on the sign in between the bars. that is my last name and i work on bikes out of my shop at home. i repair anything, but my passion is the old ones. restore, custom, rat, original, buy sell trade.

Flashing looks flashy. Love the hammered look. Gotta love dem maginations. Nice job.

Here's my very first bike I've ever built. It's a '63ish Schwinn typhoon. It also has the 3 band 2 speed kickback which I got working like a dream. It's all Schwinn from the barrings to the schwinn stamped grips. The bars are obviously after market but the rest is original. The fender was mashed up so I did what I could and spike bobbed off the rest.

Next in line. My pre-war Schwinn Excelsior. I got big plans but keeping it all original for the most part. I'm thinkin boartrack racer for sure.

Welcome to the forum Crank Drager, but you might want to post an intro thread and maybe start a thread for your bikes. Cool stuff though, where'd you get them tall apes?

i bought the rollfast from a guy who bought it new, so i am the second owner. i got the horn and light working, threw on some new tubes and used argyle tires i had and it rides the best out of all my bikes! it is rusty, but it looks too cool to touch, at least for now.
